Staying at home and raising children is the hardest job there is out there—if you’re a stay-at-home mom, you would agree.
And like any job, the job of a stay-at-home mom comes with certain job requirements.
1st thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: An Ability to work hard with little to not break and no immediate payout
If you are a stay-at-home mom of any number of kids, you would agree that you are hopping from the moment you get up until the moment you tuck the kids in for bed.
Someone always needs a diaper change, a drink, something to eat, a nose wiped.
The tasks seem endless are are.
Many times we rarely get a moment to go to the bathroom alone, or if your kids are like mine, they come along.
I’m literally never alone.
Even if I shut the door, they’re fingers are either reaching underneath the door or are banging on it.
Sometimes I wonder what… In… The… World… I’m… Doing?
Anyone else ever feel that way?
I feel like I’m working hard and getting nowhere.
Stay-at-home Moms have the ability to work hard with little to no break and no immediate payout.
2nd thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: The ability to see the big picture
The payout of being a stay-at-home mom isn’t immediate which is why stay-at-home moms have the ability to see the big picture.
They understand that although it may seem like they’re getting nowhere, they really are.
They understand deep down in their weary mamma-soul that they are raising somebodies husband. Somebodies wife.
They are teaching little girls how to treat their future husband and little boys how to treat their husbands.
3rd thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: The wisdom to let go and let God
Stay-at-home moms know that although they control much of the home atmosphere, they don’t control everything.
They understand that their children’s lives are in Gods hands and have the wisdom to put them there.
They trust him for the strength to do the things they do everyday, and the grace to do the things they think they can’t.
4th thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: Self-motivation
Stay-at-home moms possess the self-motivation to do the dishes and umpteen loads of laundry when they would rather collapse for lack of energy.
They understand that their job is never complete, and no matter how she feels, she always does what needs to be done before the day is over.
5th thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: The ability to go with the flow
A stay-at-home mom makes plans and plans on changing them. She goes with the flow because her life revolves around her family.
6th thing it takes to be a stay-at-home mom: An understanding that she is important too
A stay-at-home mom comes to the understanding, at one time or another, that she is important too. She realizes that she is the glue that holds it all together and if she goes down, so will the entire ship that she calls her family.
Being a stay-at-home mom is one of the greatest callings one can ever have, and to the mom who is reading this now, what you do day in and day out is pretty great.
No one but you can do what you do for your family.
You are a woman to be praised for all that you do, your price far above rubies!
